You have created your own website and written good contents for web users. Great!
Then your website have a good traffic. Sweet! You are ahead of most.
You have regular visitors who come to your site and look for what your website has to offer. Awesome!
However, this doesn’t mean that your website will make you a lot of money.
The question from many bloggers is: “How can we make money with our blog?”
In this article, I am going to list down 5 possible ways to monetize your blog. I hopefully this can help you solve the question above.
1. Become an Affiliate
I have established myself as a successful affiliate and generate stable, decent passive income. Thus, I suggest that affiliate marketing is one of the best ways to make money through your website.
To become an affiliate, you need to sign up with an affiliate product or service. Then you place the affiliate link on your website. You will receive a commission when visitor clicks on that affiliate link and buy the product or service.
2. Pay-per-click with Google AdSense
Google’s AdSense is a free, simple way to earn money for small, medium and large websites that places ads for products or services related to the content of your site. You will get paid when someone click through on the ads.
For example, if your blog is about swimming, Google AdSense will start showing you ads for swimming suit, swimming glass and so on. When someone clicks on the ad, you will get money for this click.
3. Sell advertising space on your website
If your website has terrific traffic and is reputable in your industry, companies in your industry would like to pay your money to place an ad on your website.
To sell advertising space fast, you may consider and implement the strategies below on your website:
- Give you customers a discount.
- Sell advertising space between your content. For example, you can break a post in half and place the ads between it.
- Offer free bonus for your customers, like ebook.
- Write a review or an article for the advertising product.
4. Create a donation button
I have seen a lot of bloggers use “donation button” as one of the ways to simply asking additional funds from visitors. Some donation buttons may look like this:
- Support my blog
- Buy me a coffee
- Buy me a drink
However, it’s easy to get started, but it’s not easy to make money with it. You should make your visitor understand the reasons why you need those donations before you set up your donation buttons.
5. Accept sponsored posts
If your website generates a lot of traffic, you can offer sponsored posts and articles. In fact, this is one of the ways that most of the bloggers are making quick money.
A sponsored post normally includes a short article and a custom anchor text-link back to the author’s website from within the article. The advertiser should write content relevant to your blog’s topic and pays you money to publish that article on your website.
In conclusion
As a blogger, we create a website that encourages visitors to read and like our content, keeping them coming back for more. Once we get a stable and satisfying traffic, we need to create a sustainable business through content monetization.
